Wedding entertainment / The good stuff

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The music, the mics, the mashups — here's what you can expect when we party together.

Do I pick the music or do you?

Totally up to you! Some of my clients LOVE planning music and send me a 200-song Spotify playlist to work from. If that's you, I'll review your selections at least a month before the wedding and send over my own playlist of suggested additions. Since I DJ in nightclubs regularly, I've got plenty of forgotten gems, dance floor favorites, and unexpected bangers up my sleeve.

We'll review my suggestions together, but you always get the final say! Most of my couples prefer to give me a handful of must-plays and let me handle the rest. In that case, I'll build a custom Spotify playlist based on your tastes and send it over for your review and approval.

Either way, there are no musical surprises unless you want them! You'll have a clear idea of what to expect well before your wedding day, while I still have the flexibility to mix, remix, and read the room in real time.

Will you provide mics for the officiant?

Absolutely! I'll provide a wireless microphone for your officiant so every guest can hear the moment you say "I do." No one should miss the good stuff.

Will you provide mics for the toasts?

You bet! I'll have a wireless handheld microphone ready for speeches and toasts, along with the sound system to make sure everyone can hear them. Happy tears, embarrassing childhood stories, and all.

Do you make all the announcements?

Yes! I'm not just your DJ — I'm also your MC (Master of Ceremonies). I'll guide your guests through the evening, coordinate key moments with your vendor team, and keep everything flowing naturally. Think polished and personable, never cheesy or over-the-top.

Do you have any examples of your MC style?
We have strings (or musicians) for the ceremony...

About 50% of the ceremonies I DJ include musicians. We will still provide a mic for your officiant and a speaker for them to be heard. We are happy to have musicians plug into our system.

Have you ever worked with a saxophone player before?

Yes! The process of music planning is the same. Check out an example here.

Do you “mix” or “transition” songs?

Absolutely. I mix songs live, blending tracks together to maintain energy and keep the dance floor moving. Smooth transitions, creative mashups, and unexpected musical moments are all part of the experience.

Do you play the full song?

Sometimes! It depends on the song and the crowd. Some songs deserve every single second, while others only need a verse and chorus to make their magic. My job is to read the room and know the difference. Of course, any songs that are especially meaningful to you can be played in full.

Are you able to play different genres?

Yes, most of my sets blend anywhere from 3–7 different genres. Check out one of my genre-bending mashups here.

What genres can you play?

90s + 2000s THROWBACKS | ALTERNATIVE | BLUES | CLASSIC ROCK | COUNTRY | DISCO | FUNK | EDM | HOUSE | INDIE | HIP HOP | K POP | LATIN | POP | PUNK | ROCK | R&B | TOP 40 | WORLD & INTERNATIONAL MUSIC | CUSTOM MASHUPS

Do you have examples of your work?
Do you DJ in public, or just weddings?

I currently DJ 1–2x per month at Barbarella in Austin + Houston. See upcoming shows on Bandsintown.

How will I know if you’re the DJ for me?

If you love club music, Barbz, dancing, singalongs, the “bangers” from college mashed up and sometimes remixed, if you love coffee, getting the club going up on a Tuesday, great MCing, attention to detail, and a DJ who can help shape the night, then we’re a good fit. I’m not the DJ who will play the Cha Cha Slide. I’m the DJ who will play the things you wish you heard at weddings, but usually only hear at the club.
